Look Mum, I made the front cover!!
Photo Review Australia magazine’s December edition is now out and features a cover article on my baby, newborn and maternity photography.
The magazine’s cover features my shot ‘Hands n Cheeks’ with the gorgeous little Italia, who I photographed just over a year ago and whose image has been seen around the world after winning several awards.
The article in Photo Review Australia describes how Richard Barry Photography came into being following a wee incident (literally) with a baby back in 2009. Less than 2 years on and demand for my photography amazes me every single day.
The article looks at both my baby and newborn photography, as well as my love of maternity photography. Photographing pregnant women is a huge challenge and I think Mums in Perth want more exciting and dramatic photos… I work hard both in the studio where I use creative lighting to capture those dramatic curved shards of light and in natural light on locations all around Western Australia.
Photo Review Australia recognises the strides I am taking in editorialising maternity photography. Have a look at my maternity gallery to see where I am taking pregnancy photography. I think it’s one of the most exciting aspects of what I do.
